Volterre's 10-Day Bali Route

10 days in Bali will have you wishing you had 10 months there. This place has millions of things to see and do at every corner of the island, and this route is just the tip of the iceberg - though it's a great way to get a diverse taste of all the vibes the area has to offer. yes, vibes.

Day 1. Denpasar Airport / Kuta - Land in Bali, observe the bars and clubs in Kuta and potentially be tempted to explore. Quickly realize that the town is the dumpiest part of the island and move on. If you have time, head to Seminyak instead, where you'll find a warm welcome to the island at the resorty day clubs.

Day 2. Uluwatu - rent a motorbike to the laid back surf town, Uluwatu, and explore the beaches, bars, water temple, and cliffside restaurants and bars (Sundays at Single Fin is a popular one).

Day 3 - 5. Nusa Penida / Nusa Lembongan / Nusa Ceningan - While in Bali, you'll be able to find package deals for ferry/bus combos that can get you around the island. We found a deal that took us the rest of the route for $90 at a hostel. Take this to Nusa Penida and explore all the nature activities it and the nearby Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan have to offer. The islands are bigger, less crowded, and a little more rugged - in a good way. The area is great for renting a motorbike and going to different cliff jumping sites (Blue Lagoon is most popular), swimming with stingrays and in tide pools, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

Day 6-7. Gili Islands - Take a ferry to one (or all) of the Gili Islands, a tourist favorite for good reason. Gili T - the "party island," filled with the quintessential Southeast Asian party vibes (buckets, magic mushrooms, Australians). Gili Meno - the "romantic couples getaway" island. Gili Air - the "chill out island" that's somewhere in between the two - lots of activities, but not necessarily raging.

Day 8-9. Ubud - take the ferry and a shuttle to the center of the island for a complete change of scenery. Here's where you'll find the yogi-in-the-rainforest vibes you had envisioned from Bali after watching Eat Pray Love trailers. Explore the temples, nature, infinity pools you saw on the cover of Conde Nast, and Balinese culture. If you have time to take a bike north, you'll also see the rice terraces.

Day 10. Seminyak - Round out the trip back in the resorty town of Seminyak and enjoy a cocktail at one of the beachside bars. Cheers to an awesome trip.

Got more time? Future potential routes could include   the less-traveled Northern coasts, and maybe even a hike up Mt. Rinjani!

Speaking of Bali...
