UCLArts and Healing’s mission is to transform lives through creative expression by integrating the innate benefits of the arts with mental health practices for self-discovery, connection, and empowerment. Ever heard of poetry therapy, or contemporary drum circles as a way to express emotion? Me neither, but it actually sounds genius.

Why? I’ve always been drawn to creative outlets like Volterre to express ideas and inspiration - but it wasn’t until COVID hit that I really understood creativity as a source of happiness, clarity, and stability. Realizing I that I have an endless supply that comes from within has been huge. Also, UCLA holds a special place in my heart thanks to high school art camp!
